focus and philosophy

Start where you are. Train for real life. Look amazing. Have fun.

Regardless of your weight, fitness level, ability, or strength, your decision to challenge yourself and treat your body with respect is my inspiration.

The gym can be daunting, inconvenient, repetitive, boring. Every body is different and every individual has different needs and wants. You don’t need a room full of machines to achieve a stronger, more beautiful physique and move more comfortably. Gravity and a few small, portable items like a foam roller, trx, medicine ball, and bosu are all the equipment we’ll need to challenge and improve your strength, balance, and endurance. Your body is your machine, and your specific goals will guide the direction of the individualized, evolving fitness program I custom-tailor to you. Within the framework of a results-oriented plan, each workout we share will be the workout you need that day.

In real life, you rarely use single, isolated muscles when you move your body; likewise, I generally avoid training individual muscles, muscle groups, or body parts (exceptions include post-surgery and injury rehab). Instead, we will focus on building a foundation of core stability and excellent movement patterns, maintaining the integrity of the kinetic chain, and treating your body as though everything is connected… because it is. We will strengthen your body with movement, not just training a series of seemingly separate parts (i.e. we will not work out legs on Monday, arms on Wednesday). You can expect workouts that challenge the body as a whole and enhance your ability to use strength, balance, and movement effectively in everyday situations. You can move more gracefully and efficienty, your parts will become more sculpted, and we will also be training for your real life.

If you are committed to working toward the results you want, I am happy to come to you—without judgement—for a consultation and initial session to see if we are the right match.
